Entrance Examination & Assessments

This year's Entrance Examination will be held on
Friday 23 January 2009. Assessment Days will begin in November. Please apply for entry to the Senior Section by Monday 1 December 2008.

Entrance to Senior Section (Year 7)

Our aim is to ensure that we continue to recruit the very best pupils with the potential to flourish at MGS. With this in mind we have decided to include an Assessment Day for entry to Year 7, similar to that held for those applying to our Junior Section.

The Entrance Examination will continue to be part of the process with Part 1 and Part 2 now being held on the same day with all applicants sitting both parts. The papers will be shorter than in previous years with the examination session finishing at 1:00pm.

Entrance to Junior Section
(Year 5 and Year 6)

There will be at least sixty places available in the Junior Section for the forthcoming academic year and we invite applications for both year groups. In common with our policy for Year 7 entry, we expect to adjust provision to accommodate demand. It remains the case that pupils admitted to our Junior Section will progress without further hurdle into the Senior Section.

Entrance to our Sixth Form

MGS is an International Baccalaureate World School and we offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, as well as A-levels to our students.  Please apply for entry to our Sixth Form by Friday 7 November.  To find out more about our Sixth Form please enter here.

Open Events

Our open events have finished for entry to our Sixth Form, Senior and Junior Sections, but you are most welcome to join us for a private tour if you are considering entry to MGS in September 2009.  Please enter here for further information.
